Hello,
As we get closer to finally implementing faction mechanics, I wanted an up-to-date place to gather all fom faction references, pls feel free to share fom images that display the faction manager UI, and in-depth info on how the campaigns, goals, payouts, etc, worked, the more data I get on the exact faction mechanics in fom, the faster I'll be able to implement them in MR. I'm sure we've had this discussion before and there are probably a few posts related to the same topic, but I wasn't able to find any yet, if you do pls drop em here as well.
Any preferences in the fom eras? I'm aiming for 2010-2011, if old fom had better stuff then feel free to share those.
Appreciate the help thx

This video covers group missions in its entirety
This video covers faction credits and how it works. It also covers the entirety of how group mission works

The last 45 seconds of this video has some of the campaign / mission mechanics highlighted here. The rest is just copied and pasted from what I said in discord
This was the original mission system:
Basically your r4+ in your faction set a start time / location for your mission, as well as a description of what they want you to do. As long as there’s 4 people in the group the mission kicks off and then the missions went for a set time (normally 4 game or 1 real life hour).. and that’s it. After the mission finishes the mission leader (system picked the highest ranked player) writes up a report of what happened
It’s extremely simple but it worked exceptionally well because the r4+ set some RP goal and everyone underneath followed it (in order to get the mission payout)
Which I’ve expressed already but imo FoM the longer it went on had some really bad issues with people only being interested in shooting one another
After the mission report was written up the missions went into a que that all players could vote on whether the mission was a pass or fail, once it got 10 votes you got that % of your mission payout. This aspect didn’t work so well but it generally took around 3 days-5 days to get your mission pay.
Each mission was a part of a larger campaign, whether it be to attack another colony or defend your own. After all the mission slots in a campaign were filled (duplex enforced like a 3 day campaign minimum, so you couldn’t run 10 missions side by side to finish it instantly) your campaign would be a success or fail once all the votes came in. A successful offensive campaign initiated a colony takeover, which was the peak of fun for me in FoM. Large scale battles etc.

I did some digging through wayback and got some snapshots to use as reference:
May 2012, last styled revision of website pre-fotd
https://web.archive.org/web/20120507191428/http://wiki.fomportal.com/w/Main_Page
Jan 2013, last pre-fotd wiki
https://web.archive.org/web/20130106165010/http://wiki.fomportal.com/w/Main_Page
I'll assume Patch 1.6.0.8 was the last legacy fom update and the data provided in the patch notes and wiki should have the most fleshed-out faction mechanics prior to fotd, it does cover most of the stuff I need so this is pretty good, Siphoning doesn't seem to be included, or I haven't dived deeper, but any info on how Siphoning worked will be nice, thanks to those who provided content!
Edit: Condensed all FoM legacy patch notes from 2010-2012

I can't watch anymore of these videos.... too much nostalgia! Looks like everyone covered a majority of the interface screens.

I love seeing the old, stuff... God I miss the legacy fom...
Also... in FOTD, since I was the only character with any kind of access to the dolly inc faction, I did a lot of UC give outs, because the faction had unlimited funds, because of it being a GM faction
