Fuyo Matsumi never knew his parents -- or anything else about where he came from, for that matter. His earliest memories were of the Code, and of sensei Ihara's strict training in its adherence. His stomach still turned at the sight of medical restraints.
His hands and feet were locked to this table, nevertheless. "Don't tense your abdomen, you've got nothing to worry about." His nurse chided, smiling warmly at him. He managed a meek smile in return, then decided to focus on her name-tag and the symbol above it. The symbol looked like a winged egg, split in two: the symbol of Avalon Enterprises. Her name was Linda Galtry, a huge relief in its own right. At least it wasn't Dr. Summers.
"Okay, Mr. Matsumi, we're all done here." She touched her terminal and the restraints opened. "Sorry about those, but it's company policy to make sure candidates don't squirm around too much and give the sensors a hard time. We'll know the results in a few minutes. You can sit here if you'd like." She motioned toward a chair near her desk.
On the surface, he was here to join the Avalon Knights. This involved passing an identity verification and background check. His actual motives, however, were twofold: he was ordered by his Kyodai to infiltrate the corporation and feed information back to the Syndicate, and this was also his chance to learn about his past. Nobody had as much information on medical histories and geneology as Avalon Enterprises, so if he was going to learn anything about his past this would be the place.
A quiet noise from the terminal indicated the moment of truth. "Welcome aboard, 'sir knight'." She giggled, as a brief wave of relief passed over him. He quickly stood and bowed to her, "Ariga-- Thank you, Ms. Galtry." She handed him a small card which had emerged from a slit toward the bottom of her terminal and directed him to the requisitions office and the room where he was to meet his Team Lead.
After a few weeks of training and some uneventful assignments, it was time to see what he could dig up. At the end of a late shift, he snuck his way past the cameras and patrols to get to the records room. He sat at one of the terminals and searched for his own record. Born on Titan in September of 2135 to parents Togoro and Chie Matsumi. There was a reference attached to his parents' names, so he followed it. May of 2137. Couple found murdered in their home, only son missing.
He stared with horror as he read the details of their deaths. This wasn't a robbery or some kind of random killing, it had all the subtle markings of a Syndicate hit. It was exactly how sensei Ihara had trained him to carry out an honor killing. Ihara had murdered his parents and abducted him.
He left in a daze, not sure what to do with himself. He hated Ihara and those bastards with the Syndicate. He wasn't going to meet his contact, that much was certain. He didn't owe them anything, especially his loyalty.

Let me know what you think. I couldn't quite figure out what year the game will be taking place, so I assumed somewhere around 2160 (rounding up latest date recorded in the faction posts to the nearest decade).
I'm not sure how others are handling these stories, but I will be playing this character in-game. Syndicate, especially the Kuroiryu-Gumi: treat me like a traitor.
But Avalon Enterprises shouldn't know about this, at least on the surface (maybe have someone watching me as a potential spy, though?).

Thanks.
I think I exhausted all the lore I could fit in naturally, so that may have to wait until more comes out.
